Natural bath sponges are either horse sponges from the Mediterranean or wool sponges from Florida. These sponges are not particularly evenly grown and have large pores, which make them particularly soft.

Natural sponges are wonderfully soft, absorb a great deal of water, and release it again with gentle pressure. A bath with a natural sponge is a sensual and luxurious experience. The fiber of the natural sponge is very similar to that of silk. It is said that natural sponges were used for body care even in ancient times.

Unlike a synthetic sponge, which consists of enclosed air bubbles, a natural sponge consists of a system of channels. Each pore is connected to another pore. This allows dirt to be easily rinsed out of the sponge. Using a natural sponge is therefore particularly hygienic and recommended for allergy sufferers and those with sensitive skin.
